The rules of the contest were very strict, with both a theme (Tools of the Trade) and editing restrictions. In total, the edits to the original photo were:

  • Levels adjustment layer
  • Unsharp mask
  • Convert to B&W (red filter)
  • Second levels adjustment layer
  • NeatImage (faded back to about 25% - just enough to smooth some pixelation in the clouds)
